It's clear the failure in DC is our fault because we've become too complacent. So at what point are we going to do things ourselves? That will be the day the tide turns? Playing musical politicians while most of the public remains apathetic and more concerned about their iPhones and Facebook posts than the future of the country is our problem. And it's at the fault of We the People! We The People are the first three words of the US Constitution and We the People are most responsible for the mess we have now.

I think the Founders put "We the People" at the beginning FOR A REASON!

When are We the People going to take things back?

We already did that.

Sadly there is no "We The People." It's we the divided, we the Christians, we the rich, we the poor and we the entitled etc.. People don't care anymore as a whole about America they just want what's good for them and no one else.

We The People are dead there is no coming back. Watch how long before this thread turns hateful or gets ignored for the most part.

If we can't agree to support the country and the symbols that represent it, we can weed out those that are against it. It will take more than a weed whacker but eventually it will look more like a productive garden and less like an abandoned field.

Good luck with that. Governing is hard work. That's why not many people want to do it. And it is pretty thankless, although you can buy you and your family some very nice gifts with the lobbyist gifts and what not. And you usually have to be rich to win elections. Yeah, good luck to you my friend.

its not the governing thats the problem, its the getting there these days what with everyone trying to smear your name with anything they can regardless of the truth. and that is why we have the low quality of candidates today.

Surely you have heard the expression - 'democracy is the worse form of government, except for all the others.'

Candidates have always sucked, no? Trump is a new low, to be sure, but Lincoln was a scumbag. So was JFK and Reagan. They are all dirt, really, right? I'm just not sure what the point is here. Bloody revolution is indeed the last straw, and it will come eventually, but it won't happen as a result of intellectual leadership in this forum.

Greed.

Greed of voters wanting someone else to pay for their stuff.

You either want someone else to pay for it, or you just take it from someone else. Which are you?
