Minimum wage hikes usually are a Plan B response to the failure of government to allow the private sector to build housing affordable to minimum wage earners.

That's what I was wondering. There are plenty of Red Robins in states that didn't have MW increases. I'm sure labor costs are going up but not all of it's due to minimum wage increases.

Who could have predicted something like this? Oh yes, everyone not a far left SJW more concerned with feeling good than actually DOING good.

Since MW did not go up EVERYWHERE, why are they eliminating busboys at ALL their restaurants?

From a different article...

In Colorado, where Red Robin corporate offices call home, wages grew from $9.30 to $10.20. California and Washington workers saw a 50 cent increase from $10.50 and $11 this year.
I can't imagine those small wage increases are going to offset the tax rate reduction they are going to see in 2018. Sounds like they are trying to increase profitability (which is of course what a company is supposed to do for its shareholders) but it comes across a little sleazy when they are blaming it on the MW increases instead.

Why would they not eliminate the positions everywhere, as they most likely developed an operational model not requiring them?

The left so loves the poor that they are always looking for ways to toss them off their jobs.

Unemployment numbers are okay? I will remember that next time you whine about Trump and labor market gains...
