Then perhaps if it’s so onerous, the government “workers” in these redundant departments should be terminated and those positions be filled by locals or by newly vetted immigrants.

The only boondoggle here is the way the taxpayers are expected to cow tow to the silly demands of Washington.

They should move every federal department out of Washington DC in order to spread the wealth and have a more intimate relationship with the people they serve. Too much money and influence flows into one tiny area right now. 5 of the 7 wealthiest counties in America surround DC. INSANE!
