It's simple math really. The 15% bracket was cut to 12%, that translates to a 20% reduction in tax burden within that bracket. And that doesn't even include the increase in the child tax credit and the new 24k standard deduction.

No, it's not that simple, and if you read through the read you will understand why. But that type of thinking is what they were hoping for.
