No future President/Congress is going to agree to raising taxes, which is effectively what allowing tax cuts to sunset would be. Silliness to even throw that out.

As for the temporary tax cuts for individuals ....the point that many Americans make is not objecting to some Americans seeing more money, less taxes... From what I understand the objections/criticism is the tax cuts for individuals are temporary, while the significant tax cuts for corporations is permanent. That makes no sense...and the tax cuts for corporations come at a time when corporations are enjoying (for the most part) or have been enjoying some good profits without the tax cuts.

Not sure my interpretation of the objections is accurate but that's what my bubble looks like.

That is where personal responsibility comes in. Each taxpayer is responsible for her or his actions, including knowing the impact of any tax decrease or increase. You seem to be coming from a nanny-perspective, where the nanny is responsible for not letting the little ones in their charge make mistakes. Job having, tax paying citizens are not children.

Still doesn't mean that you got $50 MORE, just you got $50 to use right now. It is NOT a $50 dollar increase though (in a lot of cases).

YOU understand the difference, a lot of people don't.

Individuals can affect the net, if they will. Nothing is certain in this world, short of the government enforcing certainty. Even then.... Quit being a nanny.

No, my point is the tax cuts are not what they appear. They were smart in how they did it, and I'm sure it has fooled a lot of people.

So, you are really a student who is making their way in the world. Don't get hung up on short term gains or losses. Keep putting one foot in from of the other, which it sounds like you are. The results will take care of themselves.

But, after this current semester in school I'm making my move into entry level IT work.

I thought the tax cuts were only for the rich?
Let's see the Dem politicians worm out of this one.

Didn't have time to check if she, Schumer and Schiff said the Russians will get a big break, too.

The Republicans have already worked the expiration of the tax breaks (for all but the wealthiest) into their long term projections, in order to make the budget outlook less frightening.
