You cannot break something that is already broken and Obamacare was broken from the start. To paraphrase what I said back in 2009, the mandate has no teeth and because it's pivotal Obamacare is going down in flames.

If insurance companies are not allowed by law to refuse those with pre-existing conditions, then we all pay higher premiums to cover the cost of those who were coasting along until something came up.
This is the situation created by Obamacare, large increases were already in the predictions. Removing the mandate will exacerbate the issue and force all parties to come to the table.

Wrong again.

Rate of increases slowed down under Obama. Look it up. It's a fact with stats and graphs to back it up.

There were no predictions of increases until Trump started yammering about ending the mandate, stopping the subsidies, repealing ACA, ...

Insurance executives were clear that this "uncertainty" was behind their predictions of rate increases.

Health insurance companies are betting you're not going to get cancer or an organ transplant, you're betting you will. Much like car insurance: you're betting that you will wrap your car around a telephone pole, and they're betting you wont. Insurance companies usually win the bet, most of time.

Insurance companies will always come out ahead. They are in the business of risk assessment.

If they don't do a good job of this, they will be out of business.

When I buy insurance, I'm not betting I'll have a cancer or a car wreck. I'm betting that if I do, I've got an insurance plan that will help cover the cost.

There is no such thing as "Trumpcare." There has been no "Obamacare" replacement yet approved, or even (at this point) even created.

Looks like he has a great healthcare plan. Actually the interesting thing thats pointed out is that this will impact those making 4X the poverty limit, as the subsidies will shelter the poorer folks.

2019 will be the first time we see the impacts of the war on the ACA. Will it really be 30% as the study estimates? Barring some changes I can see that occurring.
Obama was your President. We get it. He promised the freebies you are so enamored of.
Uncle Sugar for you and your people. Free phones and free health care. All in exchange for votes. We get it.

We're going back to FreedomCare. Where we take care of the TRULY needy, and the able-bodied get off the porch and provide for themselves like the rest of us.

So how do these programs get replaced after the $1B in health care cuts, where do these people get health care.

Quote:
ALBANY — The attorneys general of New York and Minnesota on Friday announced that they are suing the Trump administration for what the state officials say is “a cruel and reckless” cut of $1 billion for a health care plan for the poor.
New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said the federal cut would leave 700,000 low-income New Yorkers without health coverage under the program called the Essential Plan. Another 100,000 Minnesotans would lose coverage under the action by the federal Department of Health and Human Services, the state officials said. The Essential Plan was created by the Affordable Care Act under President Barack Obama.

You know something, that is one of the best, clearest explanations of how healthcare works that I have ever seen. It really sums it up perfectly.

What Obamacare did was, it made a huge pool, where we all paid, but it gave people who never had the ability to have insurance now able to join that pool.

funny that Obama fans peddled the cheaper insurance for all with ACA(which was/is a lie)...now peddle the rates of increases were slowing trying to divert attention away from the fact that that premiums were are going up. Just backpedal or change the topic when you are caught lying... itd be more smart to drop the shovel.

Further, the people who call for police assistance the most are often the ones who can afford it the least.

Imagine if all of us who live in safe communities decided that we would only pay for police protection that we actually use.

Right now we all eat in restaurants where the food is prepared and served by people who may or may not have the ability to seek medical attention. We shop in stores for items that are handled by people in the same boat.

Everyone having access to medical care protects us all.
