Releasing classified information to win political points. Brilliant.
I'm thinking that in the language of Trump-speak, this whole memo will turn out to be a "nothing burger". If it had any real value to the Republicans, it would have been made public long ago. But wouldn't it be great if Trump makes an even bigger fool of himself, by reading it at the State of the Union Address? Really, we just have to lean back and let him orchestrate his own downfall.
I just watched Sen. Mark Warner, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, give an interview on PBS News. He says he's seen the underlying documents that Nunes supposedly used as a basis for his memo. Warner says that after reviewing all that material, that "There's no there, there.", that Nunes is implying exists in the memo.
I assume that Trump has access to those same documents. If he has read them and then compares their contents to what Nunes is claiming in his memo, he might decide not to let the memo go public, which he can block, if he wants. It might be worth the unpleasantness, to actually watch Trump's speech, to see what he does on this issue. This is one time, that he really needs to listen to his advisers.

The background garbage the Democrats are trying to use to stall may be classified. The stuff Nunes is going to let be released will not be classified, don't you worry.

It seems as if the Republicans are convinced they have nothing to worry about. The Dems having such a temper tantrum over the release? It seems odd that if this had damning evidence on Republicans that the Dems would be quite so concerned about it.

Because the memo is from Devin Nunes who has been carrying water for Trump since he worked on the campaign. He isn't providing any background information to support his allegations and we are supposed to believe him? If the truth will set you free, then why won't Nunes allow the Democratic memo to be released at the same time
