Asks state governments why they waste money on all kinds of other feel good things, and don't prioritize repairing of bridges.

Ask our federal courts why they are forcing us to pay to send illegal aliens thru our K-12 schools.

If we know a bridge is past it's life time, and want to build a new one. Ask our over regulated government why it takes ten to fifteen years to finally getting around to start building a new bridge to replace the one that is falling apart.

are you saying you think obstruction by republican politicians in the house and senate in washington during the Obama administration was the reason democrats lost 1000 federal and state political seats to republicans his last 6 years in office?

if so, that is an interesting take on the reason for those democrat political losses.

I am for sane fiscal policy, in theory at least.

What does that have to do with the OP which could be summarized as "If not for A, then we could have B."

Absolutely^. I work in the defense industry and I agree 100%. We could easily strip our military budget by pulling out these never ending incursions.

That $150 billion that Obama gave to the Iranians sure would come in handy right about now.

Well you are probably right, in the abstract at least.

But as I pointed out, nobody- NOBODY- stood up and said, "Hey, we could spend this on crumbling bridges instead of Iraq."

Nobody.

The case for Iraq was made and the majority went along with it. It was not an either/or.

Straw man argument.

Do you mean the $150 billion that was Iran's to begin with and Obama followed the rule of law and returned it to them? Keeping it would have meant stealing it from them.
