From the links posted here so far, it appears the FBI was unable to identify him or determine where he was located based on the You Tube comment about becoming a school shooter.
It wasn't just on You Tube, reportedly it was Snapchat as well. I'm not buying the FBI couldn't find out something, they're (supposedly) the experts and have all the whiz kids. It would seem it just wasn't a priority.
Maybe if the kid had a Russian name or spoke to someone in a Russian Church?
The group the shooter associated with is part of the his profile. We are discussing the shooter's motivations and mental state. So, the group's beliefs are part of the discussion.

A belief in God and some sort of judgment often acts as a braking mechanism for our worst impulses.
Schools are for educating kids, not forcing your personal religious beliefs down their throat, sorry if you don't like that. You don't need god to be a good person.
When you are a conservative, all our problems go back to the fact that we aren't a theocracy and that fundamentalist Baptists can't force everyone to adhere to their dogma at gunpoint, despite how hard they may try. Heaven forbid we blame such easy access to guns or how difficult and expensive it is to get mental healthcare in this country.
