You do realise a trade war is going to hurt a lot of Americans, and the EU is currently compiling a list of goods to apply tariffs to, so far they have Orange Juice, Peanut Butter, Cranberries, Bourbon, US Motorcycles, and US Jeans. Whilst U.S. Soybean Farmers fear China Will retaliate with a tariff on Soya Beans, China being one of the biggest soyabean markets for the US.

Other nations such as Australia are also mulling tariffs and this is on top of the tariffs that will automatically go on to US Steel and increase US manufacturing costs thereby causing US Exports to fall, inflation to rise and increase the cost of living for the average US Household and Consumer - Just genius, what a negotiator.

America's mentality is still in a cold war mindset. The world has changed since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the use of "soft power" is more important now then ever before. Our chief rival China isn't arming itself to the teeth, its utilizing 'soft power" to spread its influence across the planet. Now we are seen more as a backward culture then a light of freedom on a hilltop. Nobody wants to be America anymore, if anything we have become a global example of what not to be.

So the American hating (and European hating for that matter) EU elite a-holes who already enjoy a trade surplus and have many barriers to US exporting don't like a fair taste of their own medicine and are threatening to escalate their trade war against the US? My and many Americans' opinion of the EU has hit a new low. I want a trade war until there is no longer a US trade deficit, just for spite alone leave alone economic reasons.

Yet millions of people are trying to get into the USA illegally each year I don't hear of any wanting to get into China.

This speaks for itself.

That's why all the goods stamped with his name are made overseas, right? He could, of course, negotiate with American companies to produce merchandise here, put Americans to work producing MAGA hats but he doesn't. His bottom line comes before this country's interests.

But it's Trump's fault!

Trump will find put very soon that his bullying tactics do not get him the results he wanted. We NEED other countries as much as they need us. We depend on them for many things, some tangible and some non tangible. He is going to find that when we need their cooperation on something that they are going to remember his actions and not be so willing to help us out as they once were.

We've all known "friends" who won't do anything for us, but they were always coming to us for favors. Just like we dumped them, the world is going to dump us, when they figure out we are fair weather friends and users.
While totally opposed to Trumps nationalism it would be nice if we were not on the giving end more often than not since the end of WWII.

Of course, I suspect Trump fans will say it doesn't matter. But it does. Just like Trumps approval rate here matters....

The article is entitled "Trump is the worst salesman American has ever had".

Trump Is the Worst Salesman America Has Ever Had – Foreign Policy

"Trump doesn’t seem to realize that a great part of America’s appeal abroad has been its role as a paragon and champion of liberal democratic values. He shows so little appreciation for those principles that Freedom House has just downgraded America in its annual “Freedom in the World” report. The report notes that in 2017, the United States’ “core institutions were attacked by an administration that rejects established norms of ethical conduct across many fields of activity."

Congratulations to his supporters. No one else could possibly sink the USA that quickly. Old fashioned conservative ideas like "ethical conduct" no longer matter.

Read the article.
So I take it, the illegal immigrants will start going to Germany and China now?
