Trump lies to his supporters, lies and lies and lies, and they love him for it, they clap like trained seals in response. Yes, yes, more!

Gee, you would have thought that Trump would have vetted Tillerson about these important issues before nominating him for SOS. Poor vetting on Trump's part. Can't imagine Trump ever running a business or company. If it had not been for Russia bailing out Trump financially, Trump would have been broke years ago.

NBC News reported that Tillerson had learned of his firing from Trump's tweet.

The title of this article really did make me chuckle:

Rex Tillerson lasted nearly 41 ‘Scaramuccis’ in the Trump administration

According to the article, Tillerson's tenure isn't the shortest in history (that goes to the Ulysses S. Grant Secretary who lasted just 11 days).

Tillerson's tenure, however, ranks 54th in tenure of the 69 people who have been Secretary of State. Still, he lasted 41.5 "Scaramuccis".

I guess Scaramucci is still the guy to beat!

So much for running the government like a business...more like what you would see in Stalin's Russia.
I wondered earlier whether the Trump Organization has ever had a 45% turnover rate of key executives in a 14-month period. That might explain all the bankruptcies.

Thanks, I didn't know he gave a statement, I'll look for it now.

and I completely agree with your post, those traits are lacking in Trump.

See, here is where things went bad. Trump hired Tillerson and thought he was going to be a yes man, just like all the other boot lickers. But Tillerson has been successful, is intelligent, and has guts. He was not afraid to say no to Trump, and, as we all know, Mr. Very Thick Skin can not take anyone who dares to go against his wishes.

Tillerson was the polar opposite of all the duds Trump has hired so far, and it was just a matter of time before he was going to be fired. Too bad, it was nice to have one person who had a brain in this very dimwitted administration.

Bet Tillerson is having a scotch and water right now and saying "Thank you , Lord ! Free at last, I'm Free at last, Thank God Almighty, I am free at last !"

Tillerson said a few months ago that "Trump is a F'n moron", and he was absolutely correct.

When I saw Tillerson's interview on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago I was struck by how poised and absolutely in command he was and is. This is a man who feels comfortable in his own skin, who exudes confidence and is clearly intelligent. He is essentially the opposite of Trump, who even on his best days is immature, mercurial, petty, cowardly, insecure, and weak.

Well it sure looks like Pompeo is Trumps man, he wants to kill the Iran Deal and is rather hawkish on NK. It should be rather entertaining having a Secretary of State that supported water boarding, I don't see him as good fit for this job. I don't think he will have many disagreements with Trump but I wonder if he will tell him when he disagrees with him as was the case with Tillerson.

Pompeo at least acknowledged Russian interference in the 2016 election but I haven't heard much beyond that.
