I emailed my aunt who is a school therapist and she did not agree with you. She said the same way many rape survivors find standing up in court and telling their story many trauma survivors find telling their story cathartic.
Maybe this is not as universal as you are making it out to be.
I don't think you actually told your aunt what I said.
I said specifically "many therapists are against the very idea of using NEW trauma survivors as political activists, because NEW trauma survivors need to focus on healing." In whose world did I imply, they should not be talking. ALL I am saying is that maybe their opinion would change in the future. What the hell is wrong about that?
Either your aunt is not a good therapist, or you did not tell her what I said (twisted my words)
either way, I said what I said, I did not demonize these teenagers. ALL I said was "Maybe their opinions would change in the future after healing." I have no ideas what is there to argue about.
About your last paragraph, I have no ideas what universe I made it out to be. I lost many loved ones to suicide, at the very beginning, I blamed a lot of people, but now, I don't. My opinions have changed after healing. I cannot say that?
You really need to stop demonizing people who simply have a DIFFERENT opinion.
by the way, ask your aunt if she knows what "political activists" are. Sharing stories is called sharing survivor experiences, yes, it is healing. But being political activists is a completely different thing. sheesh

Gun sales dropped with the election of Donald Trump because the gun huggers aren`t worried about confiscation anymore. They understand that the NRA and Putin share custody of the president.
So you are saying that he shouldn't state his opinion because it is too soon? Mitch McConnell is that you? This is just bass ackwards and the same thing we have done for nineteen years. We have stuck our heads in the sand and allowed gun manufacturers and gun retailers to say it is not our fault. I ask, how many mass vehicular manslaughters are there in the last nineteen years? Ok now what about mass stabbings and can you give the body count. The fact is when it comes to guns, we allow too much freedom when it comes to buying weapons of war.
There have been at least four acts of mass murders in the last 11 years that could have been prevented by common sense mental health check laws: Virginia Tech, Tucson, Aurora and Parkland. I personally include Aurora due to the "visions of violence" the shooter told his therapist. I guess Sandy Hook too but that would have meant the mother couldn't own guns at all so that isn't the same thing.
What
... but this does not mean he is not entitled to his opinion
you don't understand?
Also, bold is cheap shot. I did not even finish your post because I didn't want to.
Right wingers constantly need to feel superior to someone or something. Its an obsession with hierarchies essentially.
