What is weird is how the US Government doesn't know how many citizens it has.
All it has to do is count the number of birth certificates- death certificates + legalized immigrants.
A computer can do that.

By the way illegals aren't going to fill out a Census form.

What about naturilzation? States keep track of death certificates. Not the federal government.

This is coming from something they tried in the 2010 census, where selected people got a "short form" census of only 10 questions, while others received the regular long questionnaire. The short form, for whatever reason, did not have a question on citizenship and is believed to have been used to gain additional Congressional representatives (I don't know this for a fact)--as representatives are only supposed to be allotted to citizens. California desperately wants to count illegals to gain members in Congress, which is actually against the Constitution. But hey, we're California.
And actually prior to that I think.

And there is absolutely fear of answering the question. The last time the US told a group of people that if they answered this question, and registered it, they would be safe was the DACA folks.

The question I have is...is it constitutional to ask a question that is designed to intimidate, and lower the count?

I *think* it is, but im not sure.
How does it intimidate anyone? Who in the hell is it intimidating and why does it intimidate them? The question was already asked, and they ask questions like that when doing things like registering to vote.

The DACA folks are here illegally, as in they did not have permission to enter and/or remain in the country. They are only here in a legal status due to an EO.

So you are saying the US gov should not ask a question because people who are not even suppose to be here are intimidated by it?

Is it imitating to ask for registering to vote? Or how about on a background check to purchase a firearm?

Of course that should be a question!

If they want to know my race, religion, etc than for sure that question should be asked first!

The real issue is that it is supposed to be forbidden to use the census for anything else - not to ferret out particular individuals.

OF COURSE we need to know! It doesn't matter we are going to do anything with that info or not (I hope so) but how the hell can a census do anything if we can't even identify citizens vs non? It means something and is too important to NOT know. It's like driving blind people! Why have a census at all if it's not going to give important information and statistics on the populace of the USA?

Just seen a congressman from Ca say if you want less crime move to the Cayman Islands. Citizens should leave but the illegals killing people can stay. It was a segment on the Census question. They are coming unglued with fear that the illegals won't be able to vote.

CA worries about loosing representatives I'm sure. Not that they will, but once the stats are known it's probably going to become something people push for.

Did media get upset when Bill Clinton had that question on his census? They ask how many bathrooms people have and all sorts of other info. Citizenship is just another part of the whole picture.

Dems don't want America to know there are far more non-citizens than anyone thinks.
