I completely agree with you that Mueller intended to run his investigation for quite a long time, years if need be. He isn't going to stop until he either finds something on Trump, or he is forced to stop.
If it's true that there are things on Weiner's laptop that compromise Hillary, and that indictments of high ranking officials in the FBI/DOJ are forthcoming, then yes, Giuliani can force Mueller to negotiate an end of his investigation.
It's hard to know how all of this will play out, but the people in Sessions' cross hairs are sweating, you can see it as they start to point fingers at each other.
Ghoul-iani will not be forcing Mueller to do anything as he is likely being investigated as well and with good reason. There is not even enough left to pick at of the right wing Hillary email fantasy to even interest a vulture so let it go already.

Alan Dershowitz just talked about how capable Giuliani is, and that he is the right person for the job.
I think it will take more than a couple of weeks, but if Sessions has enough to indict FBI/DOJ officials, Mueller will be willing to talk.
If Sessions/Giuliani has enough on Hillary to get indictments, Mueller will shut down his investigation pretty quick.
If Mueller clears Trump before the midterms, you know Giuliani got him.
Giuliani hasn't worked in the legal profession for two decades, he is not qualified and is not even close to the league of Mueller.
Giuliani isn't working for the DOJ he is assisting the White House, I don't know where you get these pipe dreams that he is going to help the US Attorney indict Clinton.

Trump is manipulated by no one.
What you are experiencing is a reaction to Trump's actions by concerned citizens and people charged with the duty to carry out the law..
"When the going gets tough you don't want a criminal lawyer; you want a *CRIMINAL* lawyer...."
And that's exactly what Trump is getting.

Giuliani is out of his league. 30 years ago - perhaps not - but his time has come and gone. Since Rudy is likely to be a witness given his assertions that the FBI hated Hillary and thus was leaking like a sieve. OH, and his assertion that the Russians had Hillary's emails and had had them for 'some time".
My guess is Trump just wants another tv lawyer that will go out there and loudly defend him.
