One more very important fact is, as President, he is the commander in chief of all military, and if he orders that they be deployed, they are deployed.
There is no "asking" the pentagon, or anyone else.
His sworn duty to protect the constitution, and country is what is in play here.
If he decides to call up the military, that is his responsibility, and his alone.

I don't think "Democrats excused Obama" like you and so many conservatives want to insist with this quote of yours. Most of the Americans supportive of the ACA (about half) simply appreciate the fact the ACA passed even if not exactly as Obama hoped or thought possible. Why? Because the ACA was also "written and produced" by Congress. Obama was the "Executive Producer," and as such, he came through with the baby even if it was not an immaculate conception. That's all...
They violently bashed through two other national borders, they violently attacked police and military there. Sensible people would be forgiven for considering the same might happen when they reach the US border. Also, as far as I understand, you claim asylum at the first safe country, Mexico in this case. You cant say "No thanks we prefer America". So all your assertions that what they are doing is reasonable and legal are wrong.
Mind providing the source of this news regarding all this violence? Mostly I read of people taking buses, walking across bridges, wading across rivers and lots of walking..., in mostly peaceful fashion. What is the real news and what is the "fake news" here?

The Comitatus act prohibits the use of the military on US soil, with one exception, and that is invasion.
It does not state what type of invasion, so Trump's order to use them at the border is one hundred % legal.
These migrants headed here are an invasion force.
If the country were suddenly invaded by giant man eating insects, the military could be called up to defend the country.
Invasion does not mean just some other military force.

Maybe today we can view this group of unarmed migrants headed to America as an "invasion force," but this isn't the first caravan that has headed our way and no other POTUS ever hinted at such a thing as an "invasion force." This too, I think, is something only Trump and his supporters could hatch up and support as if somehow good use of America troops or somehow the American way or intelligent American leadership.
It's Trump as usual, also lying about who these people are in general, more fear-mongering. Twisting the truth in just the way needed to keep his supporters frothing over their perceived enemies, so they can believe all the more they are true American patriots. More like pretending all considered, and to pretend you must "make believe!"
