Of course people get paid and they work in a capitalist environment, so naturally have to compete in that environment. Those who refuse to work while they can will not "prosper" in a worker co-operative. You have a warped view of what worker co-operatives are. The point is that the workers own their workplaces and take part in the decision-making like every other owner.

I'd stop paying into social security tomorrow.
Take back every penny I ever paid in. I can invest it better than uncle sam can.
I've been saying that since I started working...

Cool most people aren't as blessed with wealth as you seem to be... Frankly I think we as a society should have a higher standard than letting the elderly starve since they can no longer compete in the workplace.

Thats true. But the greed of the ruling Wall Street class knows no limits. Its like a drug addict. They can never get enough power and privilege. So they push this libertarian agenda, which is really just feudalism with a new name. They are counting on propaganda winning their victories again, but I wouldnt be so sure. Historically, when inequality gets out of hand and workers get too desperate, it usually doesnt end well for the ruling class who want it all.

In reality, countries without any public safety net has enormous social problems, mass poverty among the elderly and the working class live like modern day serfs. Be careful what you wish for. Wall Street will get their hands on your money sooner or later when your support their agenda.

There are ALWAYS people that are better than others, people that are far smarter, people that are just overall far superior to others, as such of course it's just natural for people to be above others. I mean, has there EVER been a nation/state that was Communist yet didn't end up being ruled by evil greedy **** heads?

The Soviet Union sure as hell in no way ever practiced what they preached. The vast majority of people were little better than poor peasants while those in the politburo and at the top greatly enjoyed wealth, fame, prestige; the likes of which the vast majority could never hope to achieve. Did those at the top honestly not see how massively evil hypocritical they were? Sure you can complain about Capitalism, but at least with Capitalism there's no question or hiding in letting you know you either work or become a stupid bum. It truly amazes me how so many honestly thought Communism could in anyway work, much less lead to this great egalitarian utopia. Karl Marx should've been drowned at birth.
The haves vs. the have nots... the us vs them, and there's a lot more have nots than haves...

That is why socialism / communism won't die.

I think this answers the question. In NK, kids are indoctrinated at birth. No tv except orangeaid, I mean Jong-un saying the same thing over and over and over again. No freedom. No press other than good. Killing off those who speak against him (and Putin - same thing). Sound familiar?

It started with a very disgruntled and forgotten part of what was our country - the poor and the extreme fear of anyone having a larger population that what they're used to. So, orangeaid mobster, llc is using fear and lies on cheap tv stations to convince them the FBI is out to get it, HRC, Obama and none of it's true. Constant lies (watch a cheap channel or 10) is manipulating the poor, enriching the top 1% with our money and we are a gone country. That's the nutshell. Yes, followers have been brainwashed.

The reality is this has been going on since @WWII. The other reality is more and more commentators (including snippets from people on Fox) say it will get worse. One message repeatedly, with people who have felt forgotten and worse by our government want change. They'll get it in spades. Unfortunately, so will we.

Garbage platitude if someone happens to make less than you despite working full time I don't think they should starve when they retire sorry.
