Say goodbye to modern Turkey that was supposed to be secular under the founder Ataturk..... hello new Iran! And now Erdogan will have even more power!
He turned the nation into more Islamic and fanatic, freedom has significantly decreased and many journalists tortured in prison.

Just another reason to get as far away from that region as possible.

That would be hard to do with only 4% of the population being Shiia, and Erdogan himself being Sunni.

Not talking about the different sect. I’m talking about Turkey becoming more Islamic and less freedom.

First Putin, and now Erdogan. Both men are staying on for a longtime. We are in an age of populism aswell as the exploitation of democracy and representative government for staying on as a leader for a long time.

New Iran?

Iranians have more freedoms than most Saudies, especially women.

Iranians are majority Shi’a. Turkey is super majority Sunnis.

Turkey resides in two continents, Europe and Asia.

Neither Turkeyor Iran are Arab countries.

Turkey is a Muslim majority country.

It has been a secular and progressive country compared to many Muslim majority countries.

Seems half the country prefers it that way while the other half prefer to allow religious courts/ doctrine to determine outcomes.

Years ago it was a "modernized" country, but over time the radical "half" has out-bred the moderate "half" and have taken over.
