I’m not a typical millennial, I’m 31. I voted for a few democrats here and there, but I normally vote for Republicans. I didn’t vote for Trump and doubt I will in 2020.
I lean towards the GOP, but they lose me on corporate interests, military spending, and social issues. I am closest to the RINOs in the Republican Party as they are called.
Yeah I don't get why any white person would vote Republican either since they hate anyone but the very rich and just use people for votes by fooling them.
The bold is bi partisan meaning both parties do it and support it. I mean cmon that is Democracy 101.
Uh-oh Dems - 16,000 REGISTERED voters age 18 - 34 polled by Reuters.
"The latest Reuters/Ipsos Poll surveyed more than 16,000 registered voters between the ages 18 to 34 over the course of the last three months of 2018. This same poll was conducted in 2016 around the same time period."
2016: Democrats favored over Republicans 47 to 33 percent margin by same white 18 - 34 age group .
2018: Today, 39 percent of young white Americans say they favor Republicans while another 39 percent of young white Americans say they favor Democrats.
I'm emphasizing Reuters "registered voters" (a plus) because pollsters like Gallup say they poll Americans --- only it turns out they define "Americans" as anyone who lives here, in their methodology. News stories never tell you that. You have to look at the actual poll methodology.
By the way, Gallup didn't change just because of Trump so don't assign anything nefarious to it. They were doing the same type of thing under Obama. I used to wonder how Obama could use his approval ratings to figure out how he would do at the polls because Gallup polled (for Approval rating) any adult who picked up the phone making the info useless. They do the same with Trump. Are 50%, 25%, 60%, 5%, etc., even eligible/registered to vote? How can you compare presidential approval ratings if you don't know that? Who cares what people think of the presidents (any of them) if the poll numbers don't reflect what will happen on Election Day? I'm told what Gallup does is cheaper. That's why they do what they do --- but garbage in, garbage out.
Oh for crying out loud.
Reuters conducts online surveys and asks respondents to self identify.
Reuters has no way of knowing if respondents are citizens, are registered to vote, let alone by party. They also have no way of knowing if respondents are in the 18-24 age bracket.
Absolutely nothing prevents me from responding to a survey and self identifying at whim.
Same deal with telephone polls.
People tend to buy into polls when the outcomes seem to validate their perceptions. When a poll outcome seems to invalidate their perceptions, they dismiss it.
When you realize that the purpose of polls is to shape public opinion, not to reflect it, some of the questionable methodology begins to make more sense.

The only people who say this are parasites (not saying you...you seem good). The Trump tax cut alone is HUGE for my family.

Also from a Reuters/Ipsos poll, since you seem to like them so much ...
Why any white person would ever vote for a party that hates them and cultivates their demonization is beyong me. Brainwashing only goes so far, and if this is true, maybe it can be the beginning of changing academia from the ground up.
Supporting equal rights for non-whites doesn't equate to hating whites. I don't get why Trump supporters don't get this. It's just like supporting the rights of the LGBT community doesn't mean Christians are being oppressed.

Yeah I will NEVER consider voting Republican until they stop trying to force a fundamentalist Christian theocracy on this country. The founders set up separation of church and state for a reason and today's Republicans just don't get it.
