Could you please explain your thinking, especially as relates to Obama, since that's more recent?
I'm trying to imagine what you consider to be Trump's minor "foibles." He's had three marriages, fathering children in each, while being known as a mostly uninterested father. He has bragged about his adultery. He describes his own daughter in distastefully sexual terms. He has been involved in multiple bankruptcies. He has stiffed people, refusing to pay them. He has gotten in trouble with the government for his racist business policies. He is alienating our traditional democratic allies and cozying up to authoritarian dictators. He lies incessantly, about everything, even about the height of his buildings. He insults people right and left. He makes statements that are totally wrong, such as the idiocy about the Wisconsin elections, but then refuses to retract or apologize, and in fact sometimes keeps right on repeating them. He has advocated violence toward people who don't agree with him. He is flounderingly inarticulate, but tends to be grandiose and inflammatory. He is using the office of the presidency to enrich himself on an unthinkable scale of conflict of interest.
And I'm not even going into his specific dim-witted political ideas or policies, such as his off-handedly threatening nuclear war.
Most normal people would not consider these "foibles."
What exactly do you find worse about Obama, in comparison?

Less 3rd world Muslim foreigners. Less illegals. Stronger border/ice. $3000 extra in my pocket per year. More jobs. No demonizing police for shooting Mikey who just committed a robbery and fought officer for his gun.

Should Trump do as obama did and turn thousands of kids over to traffickers? NO, and I don't know why the left wants that but it sure seems that they do. Since there is usually no paperwork to prove who is parent and child then the best and most obvious way to go is to do the dna tests, which the left is screaming about, too. That's odd. I wondered the same thing about Obama worshippers who made excuses for 8 years, swept things under the rug for 8 years, put up with him putting everyone BUT Americans first for 8 years. Then there was Bill and Hillary. Their fans could not see past the stars in their eyes to know how corrupt they are.
Trump is doing what is best for the country. He is not asking outsiders from other countries what we as Americans should do.
It's funny how when Obama was friends with and bowed to the evil leaders of other countries everyone called him diplomatic. CNN is not your friend. Watching it causes TDS.

I am also one of them. Perhaps (just my opinion, but I'd lay down money on it) the left would stand a chance next election if they really understood that Trump's hard -core fan base is much smaller than they perceive. Until the left really opens their eyes and accepts that an incredibly large number of us don't like the guy through & through but will take him over what they're offering.....well...they stand a very, very good chance of losing again.
Y'all want to change the 2020 outcome? Then start paying attention to the silent majority. Your focus on the hard core right wing nutjobs will never be effective - asking "what it will take" is an exercise in futility, and there aren't enough of them on which to waste your energy. Put out someone better, 'cuz face it, what you've been serving up lately just blows.

Obama was crooked and the Left was blind to the fact. Hillary Clinton was corrupt as the day is long and the Left refused to accept it. Bill Clinton was corrupt and a pretty terrible person, but the Left couldn't see it.
I'm not going to defend Trump. He's not my guy. The unending shrieking by the Left-biased media and Democrats makes me want to support him just out of spite. It really is that annoying. But I'm not standing behind him. So no this isn't a what-about-ism. This is me pointing out that Lefties are just as blind to the flaws of their people as the GOP is of theirs.
Now now far is too far? When Donald J Trump actually commits a crime. Saying mean words isn't a crime. Insulting people isn't a crime. Banging porn stars and super-models isn't a crime. At this point, Donald Trump has not committed a crime that I'm aware of. When he does, toss him out of office and prosecute him for his crimes.
Putting politics aside, as I listen for fellow New Yorker Trump, all I can think of is, damn man, what are you talking about? Get to the POINT. Say what you mean, and END IT. Smart New York Business People don't speak like he does. If for no other reason, time is MONEY!
Rambling on and on about Elton John, Organs, etc., etc.? That would never fly in any Corporate Meeting.
I'm putting my foot down if he goes and meets Putin and improves relations with Russia. Totally unacceptable. We need them as a scapegoat to blame all of America's problems on.
