Both are ideologies. What makes one an acceptable excuse for refusing service and the other is not.

Note that I'm not arguing in favor of businesses being able to ban muslims, and I'm not arguing in favor of forcing businesses to serve Trump supporters. The topic is, why this double standard is acceptable?

It is the right of ANY business to discriminate against or ban ANYONE for ANY reason whatsoever.

Freedom of association and property rights are absolute.

Both should be acceptable. Discrimination is an indicator of a free society.

I don't think it is ok for a business to ban customers for their political affiliation or religion.

My opinion? If you're in the customer service business, serve your damn customers no matter what their political ideology!

How would a business know if someone was a Trump supporter? From wearing a MAGA cap or a Trump campaign button? That's not a good reason to ban someone. But if they were running at the mouth with a lot of "go Trump" or whatever and getting on people's nerves then show them the door.

Take it up with the Supreme Court. If a baker gets to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, other businesses get to discriminate on the basis of politics. However, religious belief has been specifically carved out as a protected category, and so far, that hasn't been eroded, so no discriminating against anyone on the basis of religion. Muslims and Christians and everyone else get the same protection on that.
