Of course! That's the myth of sub-contractors. They try to sell you on how it costs less, but that's a total lie. The F-35 program should've had far better oversight. If the contractor messes something up, they pay for it.

He was very threatening in his language against the U.S. and made it clear he wanted to attack us in some way, possibly our troops in Afghanistan. Bush was a fool thinking he could sell the war on the flimsy evidence he had on WMDs. He should have waited and just kept a watchful eye on Hussein. Maybe the Iraq war could have been avoided, maybe not. After both his father and Clinton reduced our military way too much, we never should have entered into a second war. One of the dumbest decisions ever by a president. To your point though our military spending issues have way more to do with us being fleeced by the defense industry than anything else.

Bush and friends straight up lied to the American people. They knew before they got on screen to argue their case that everything they were selling us was bull****. He sent American men and women to die over lies (every war has it's drama, Iraq was unique). A couple hundred years ago the whole administration would be dragged through the streets. Instead, we've been gentle so far in the history books, but eventually the truth will block that out.
Saddam wouldn't mess with the US. He was afraid of the US. The issues with Iraq stem solely from the Bush family. Iraq had a growing decent middle class until Bush Sr. put trade sanctions on the country. Saddam had expansionist goals vs his neighbors, not the US. When he heard the US was coming for him, he offered huge resource offers in exchange for being left alone.
