Aside from Costco or Sam's where having your picture taken is part of the deal, how did they get it?

When I got my loyalty card from Safeway, the cashier just handed me the card at checkout and I went on my way. I didn't fill out a form, nothing.

Yes, I later set up an account so I could associate my phone number, but, I assure you, there was no picture taking involved. Everyone in my household uses that account at checkout simply by entering the phone number. And it's never been an issue for any of us.

And yes, they keep track of what we buy. That's sort of the point. For the rewards.

But you don't need a rewards card for the companies to keep track. If you use your debit or credit card, they know what you buy just the same.

They log your photo ID info when you apply for one.

I have never handed over my photo ID for a card. None of them have my photo attached. Some only have my email address, not my address. Many do not have my legal name.

Again - what SPECIFIC store rewards card has the info available on a photo ID? You could just start with rewards cards that include a photo.

Usually, your driver's license info. You don't have to have a photo taken by the store for them to log that info.

Which store rewards cards take your driver's license info?

My Wegman's card, for example, was all done through their app. It uses the name I go by, which is not my legal name, and does not include my birthday or address, just an email address. I didn't have to take a selfie.

How would that card line up to my driver's license? How would any?

Nope.
Didn't give Safeway or King Sooper's any photo ID when I got my reward cards.
