Allow (voluntary) school faculty their right to keep and bear arms on school grounds. On their person or locked up. Makes no difference to me.
Allow those willing to volunteer their time to stand armed at entrances and exits during the school day. I'm willing to give my Mondays up since I run a business and Mondays suck. So I can leave my guys with light work following the weekend.
I even offered 50k cash to the sheriff if he would endorse the training during summer break of armed faculty with force on force utilizing simunition rounds.
Far as the volunteer training goes... most of us either attended fighting rifle/carbine/pistol courses or compete in 3 gun matches.
I'm not saying every teacher or school faculty employee is armed, but I have met many who do have a CCW and do carry. Just not to their place of employment.
Spend 2 weeks during the summer with sheriff's deputies and volunteers to simulate a heinous scumbag shooting up the place with simunition rounds combined with SROs and volunteers outside the building. Anyone gets inside, at least there's a fighting chance to thwart the scumbag in the act.
Would have been handy when that one in Broward stood outside as the scumbag continued on.
The technology of weaponry is far more advanced than a group of vigilantes with their pistols can go up against. If you want to squash the efforts of the US military, I am sure thoughts and prayers will be an effective weapon, perhaps a sign stating, "In God We Trust!"
Tell that to the vigilantes in Afghanistan who have been holding off the worlds superpowers for decades. In any case if the time comes when the people need to remove/replace the US government I'm sure it will be a government people like you voted in and the military won't be on your side, they'll be on the side of the people.
And in the highly democratic part of Florida that has had a school shooting their solution is...to do nothing except to continue with their failed policies and not spending money on security.
