Again, Mike, a left-wing think tank has established the cost of single-payer health care in the US at $40,000/year for a family of 4. Who pays for that?

I was being facetious. Of course they dont want a system that you pine for where nothing is covered and its back to the times of the witch doctor on demand. Drugs are under strict price controls in Canada, unlike in America.

But the cost is still out of pocket. It's not free.

lol, no, just stop it with your Urban Institute nonsense. They dont support single payer and never will. They can call themselves whatever they want, it means nothing. Former republicans join the Democratic Party all the time and keep their same donors as well. NJ Democrat Cory Booker, a man I am sure you hate is on the same page as you when it comes to regulating drug prices. He hates it, as he's swimming in cash from the big pharma donors you love.

Urban Institute:

The Urban Institute was established in 1968 by the Lyndon B. Johnson administration to study the nation’s urban problems and evaluate the Great Society initiatives embodied in more than 400 laws passed in the prior four years.

LBJ. Democrat.

lol, that was 50 years ago. Cory Booker is also a democrat. The Urban Institute does not support single payer. End of story.

There is no profit in the dead or healthy. Our food is designed to slowly make us sicker and sicker in order to be treated with overpriced medications and medical facilities to drain our last dime. The US medical care system, or medical industrial complex is now a profit based entity that treats people as a commodity. It is designed, not to heal, but keep you healthy enough to pay outrageous insurance premiums and grossly priced medications and treatments. The last I checked the US ranks 37th in medical care while being number one in medical innovations. How is that possible? Greed, nothing but greed.
This has been going on with both republicans and democrats and worsens every year. When will people wake up to the fact that we, the working folks, are being exploited by both parties who serve the corporation rather than the individual citizen?

Laughing that you think they'd be paying less. A family of 4 would be paying about $40,000/year for health care. How many families of 4 do you know that can afford that?

This is flat out 100000000000% wrong. Europe has EMA........

Closer to 11K by now...and the answer to your question is quite obvious. They are on welfare. Most people are.

Now, how is this possible......

1. Print Money
2. Borrow more.....

2/3 of ALL this 11K per person health care is paid for by the US Government. The US Government keeps borrowing more and more...for this reason!

I am going to sound like a broken record...but

Family guy on here (example) who feels he pays more than enough in taxes....
Family of 4 - two adults, two children

44K in Health Care Costs
24K in school costs (2 kids in school).
6K plus for the Security State
10K roughly for all else from roads to general government infrastructure and more.
--------
84,000 in taxes this family needs to pay.......local, state and federal.

My Guess as to income and taxes.....
160K income
Taxes paid
5,000 local taxes
30,000 Federal Taxes
8,000 State Taxes
--------
43,000 paid.

So, this family "only" requires $41,000 in welfare each year in order to survive.

To be fair Gottlieb is actually very well liked and has done a lot for consumers. Even his most vocal liberal critics before he took over have now been converted and have been praising his good work. He's basically one of the only Trump appointees liberals actually love, and he routinely does opposite of what industry wants, which is surprising of course, given his background.
