That freaking out and crying you hear is how politics works. Republicans do things that Democrats don't like, and the Democrats make sure everyone knows about it with the hope that enough people will vote to change the current regime. You know, kind of like how people (myself included) freaked out and cried about all the things that Hillary Clinton did that made her a poor candidate.
In order for the Dems to Bork a nominee, the Republicans have to be willing to presume that the Dems are conducting themselves with some minimal level of human decency. Clearly, the Dems behavior has been truly outrageous, not just with regards to these hearings, but with regards to their conduct more generally, not only in Congress, but also in the media and in the public square.
As if any further indication of the Dems untrustworthiness was required, their behavior today in today's Kavanaugh hearings, which apparently included Chuck Schumer himself being involved in planning and coordinating the audience disruption scheme, cetainly ended any further need for consideration of this matter once and for all.
There were apparently 61 people arrested today during those hearings, while the seating space for the public is only 41. Schumer and the Dems had these a-holes queued up and ready to replace those just arrested. Of course it would come as no surprise if George Soros had a hand in this as well.
Be sure to vote Republican in the upcoming elections or we will have even more of this. Thanks Dems!

That ship sailed with Hillary's "Deplorables" comment. It's been all downhill for them since then. Aside from Hillary being a crappy candidate and screwing over Bernie, I think that is the single most reason for their defeat in 2018.

It's sad to see the depths the Democrat party has fallen to, ever since being rejected for the Presidency nearly two years ago.
Democrat supporters have been donning black masks and rioting, burning, and breaking windows on college campuses that dare to express viewpoints the rioters don't approve of. Democrats have been invading Republican town halls and yelling and screaming so continuously that the candidate who held the meeting can't speak.
And now Democrats have been similarly invading the U.S. Capitol, entering the Senate chamber during confirmation hearings, and shrieking over and over, pure to disrupt the hearings, carrying on for hours. Democrat senators, who had demanded more than a million(!) documents on the nominee, immediately started interrupting the Chairman over and over, petitioning him to postpone or cancel the confirmation, on grounds that they haven't had time to read them all!
The Democrat party has been sliding steadily from "Democracy" down into third-world thug tactics as they try desperately to seize power over a populace that increasingly doesn't want their agenda.

Opinions, decisions, rulings- all of the things to determine whether or not the nominee is beyond a doubt qualified.
Liberal utopia? I’m a Buckley Conservative- you know, when reason ruled over liberal emotion. I found it uniquely ‘liberal’ when the GOP refused to hold hearings on Garland, instead invoking some arcane rule to postpone.
I also find it disgusting that the GOP did a data dump on this guy at the last minute.

It was about primarily the culture war. Obama's second term wasn't kind to the religious right. One by one, their worst fears came to pass as DOMA and Prop 8 were struck down, Caitlyn Jenner announced her transition, SCOTUS ruled gay marriage legal in all 50 states, Kim Davis goes to jail for refusing same-sex marriage licenses, and then it all culminated in the big transgender push in 2016. People were outraged and they felt like their way of life was being destroyed. And in a way, they weren't wrong. White fundamentalist Christians have been losing power in this country for a long time and LGBT rights is simply just an area where they no longer get to force their beliefs on people. However to them, losing that privilege feels like oppression. That is why Trump is President.
The Christian Right knows it's time is limited. They took advantage of a situation when they had a strong candidate and the Democrats had a weak one and pulled off an upset. Trump will not be able to win in 2020 unless the exact same set of circumstances we had in 2016 remain true. That isn't likely.
