I didn’t think No_Recess would be offended. I’ve read enough of his posts to know. I was just saying it is a little offensive. Bush called it the soft bigotry of low expectations. I thought that was one of his better quotes because it’s so true.
It's actually my favorite Bush quote and I still wonder who wrote it.
as long i've stated for many years - leftists may claim what they want is equal opportunity, but what they expect and demand is equal outcomes.
no matter what.
Leftist want their favored non-whites to have equal or better outcomes than their disfavored whites. If Asians do better in many measures than whites, that's attributed to hard work. If whites do better than another identity group, it's because whites disadvantaged the others.
Nothing leftist advocate for will make any sense until you realize their ideology is anti-white racism. Then everything they do starts to make sense.
Black and Hispanic medical students don't make the honor society as often as other medical students. That's racist, dontcha know. So a leading med school in NYC will stop nominating students for honors entirely. This a national problem, we are told by NPR, which cites an expert who claims it isn't fair to judge med students of color by the same standard:
Not to worry though, it isn't like training good doctors is a matter of life and death, right?

Its a fact that minority medical students are admitted on lower standards than other students, for purposes of giving med schools more color.
Admit a group of people with lower academic performance, and its a forgone conclusion that they will make the honors society at a lower rate.
Those to feel bad for are the minority students with grades on par with everyone else. The affirmative action has their presence in the profession questioned when it should not be. Whether anyone likes it or not.

They obviously just need to lower the standards like fire departments have, since the current standards are not culturally sensitive.
Being a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) can be important for Medical students who are attempting to match into the most competitive residencies. While not being a member of AOA is not a deal breaker for matching, if you aren't AOA, it does, potentially, put you at a fairly significant disadvantage compared to other candidates. Membership in AOA is ultimately at the discretion of each individual school, but is generally based on grades, scores on the USMLE (which is the multi-part, standardized medical licensure exam all med students must take), leadership and other subjective criteria.
I think there are two issues here. One, the claim that much fewer minority students are invited into AOA, which puts them at a disadvantage when attempting to match into competitive residencies and second, that if a school decides to opt out of AOA altogether, then all the students may be at a disadvantage.

That's what I'm wondering. The quote in the first post is:
So what could they possibly be talking about?
It seems to be part of the new race/gender studies lingo. People like talk about the general racism/sexism in society burdening them and making them feel exhausted. They are made to "work" extra every day to overcome microaggressions. I've seen lots of quotes from people saying they refuse to "do the work" of defending their positions or beliefs to men and white people. This moonbat famously exclaimed that she wouldn't "enact the labor" of explaining herself to an impertinent white male interviewer (5:00):
