A US military base is a money machine, wherever it's located.

Locals are hired to work on the base and the soldiers spend a lot of their pay in the local economy.

Of course Poland (and almost any other ally) wants it.

They're known for sausages and beer.

Poland is slipping into authoritarianism so having a Fort Trump on it’s soil makes a certain kind of sense.
