Yes, it will get backlash just like the Civil Rights movement got backlash. And for the same reason. Some people don't want to give up their privilege.

The backlash part would be against the small percentage trying to be "cool" like the nutjob that went after Aziz Ansari, mattress girl and so forth.

Clearly the movement is new and needs to mature past the lynch mob phase but it's here to stay and long overdue.
If mattress girl's story is true she was a victim of an aggressive sexual assault. She did her mattress art thing to bring attention to it.

Ansari was just a bad date.

A man might mistreat women and who often get away with it. Another man might treat women so fairly that he might have more respect for them than he does for himself. The one who treats women well and has done so ever since he was a young kid (in this case, I am talking a preschool age or younger) is who Trump's quote of "it's a hard time to be a man" (paraphrased) would apply to more. Sure, both men don't have to worry about walking at night alone as much as a woman might to have worry. However, the second man described is who has a lot more to worry about losing (reputation, friends, family, employment, housing, etc.) than the first man described. This applies even if the second man has middle to upper class earnings.
