Over time the wall is the cheapest, and safest option to secure the border.

Question for all the bleeding hearts and America haters:

Where in the Constitution is the Federal govt authorized to provide "asylum" to anyone?

H1-B? No, wrong visa program.

Besides, the visa program you're whining about is a program for temporary unskilled workers to be hired on a seasonal basis. Americans want full-time year round work. Besides, many of them don't live near most places (like resorts) that hire temp workers. At one time, resorts were open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. These days, they open before Memorial Day and close after Labor Day. In other words, now high school and college students can't take those jobs.

Would you rather these places thumb their noses at the law and hire illegals?

Are we justified in crossing Mexico’s border?

First 4k, then 5k, today it was 7k , now 14k ? Yeah....right...

Maybe double it a couple of more times , then the cartels can arm them , and it will be a formidable army advancing on our border.

Or does he mobilize a tent city in preparation of their arrival giving them food/water and medical treatment while they wait to be legally processed?
I’m not being a smart alec here. Is this how you would handle it? Allow all these people to cross into our country illegally? And then who pays for this tent city especially since we are still supporting the victims of hurricane Michael.

Is it really ok to request Asylum simply because you cant find a job in your home country?

If they were truly "refugees" seeking asylum they would stop in the first country that is safe. They would not keep "walking" to get where they actually want to be. That is the problem. If you break away from your unsafe country and are now "safe" in another safe country you are no longer seeking asylum. No, you are seeking to live in United States. That's different. Just like many other people who are waiting to come here for a job and a new life. Get in line behind those people who started the process legally.

It's 1,500 miles from Guatemala to the U.S. border. And even farther from Honduras.

People in good shape can walk maybe 15-20 miles a day... if they're well fed and cared for. (Who's feeding them and caring for them, providing them places to sleep, bathrooms etc.? 7,000 people is a LOT of people)

According to media stories, they just crossed the Guatemala/Mexican border in the last few days.

So it will take them at least 2-3 months to get to the U.S. border. If they walk 7 days a week, never slacken their pace or pause a day to rest.

The answer to your question above, is left as an exercise for the class.
Even if they walked 30 miles per day with no days off for rest it should take 50 days.

1,500/30=50

So that's one whole month and 20 days. So you're correct 2-3 months minimum.

It must cost millions of dollars to organize this.
