Members of Congress – even Democrats – swear an oath to “bear true faith and allegiance” to the Constitution, which establishes our system of laws and specifically charges the Congress with making the rules of naturalization and immigration.

Who comes across the border and under what conditions they can stay is a constitutional responsibility of the Congress. That is to be determined by a congressional vote, not by a Honduran mob.

Failure to insist on that – even for Democrats – is a violation of your congressman’s oath of office.

So there is not a Democrat or Republican response to this travelling army of invaders – there is only an American response.

And that is: Turn around and go home.

The news article you posted says nothing related to your hyper-inflammatory thread title.

Most people have the common sense not to fall for your fear mongering tactics. Thank goodness.

The only fear I have is if our military has to open up on these invaders and they kill hundreds of them. It would be completely justified but a terrible situation.

"Q: Are there criminals in the caravan?
A: Yes – so far, there are over 270 individuals along the caravan route that have criminal histories, including known gang membership.

On October 29, the Mexican ambassador to the U.S. described some of the caravan members as 'very violent:' 'Unfortunately, some of the people in the caravan have been very violent against authority, even though they have offered the possibility of entering in compliance with immigration law and refugee status.'

On October 30, Mexico’s Interior Minister Navarrete Prida speaking on Radio Enfoque (Focus) 100.1 FM, confirmed that some criminal groups have infiltrated the caravan: 'I have videos from Guatemala that show men dressed in identical clothing, sporting the same haircuts, handing out money to women to persuade them to move to the front of the caravan…We know, for a fact, that some members of the caravan threatened [Mexican] Migration Institute personnel and we have images showing many of them preparing Molotov cocktails.'”

According to military planning documents, about 20 percent of the roughly 7,000 migrants traveling through Mexico are likely to complete the journey. The unclassified report was obtained and published by Newsweek on Thursday. If the military’s assessment is accurate, it would mean the United States is positioning five soldiers on the border for every one caravan member expected to arrive there. ( which will not be before 4 to 6 weeks.)

The report was prepared by U.S. Army North, a component of U.S. Northern Command, which oversees the mission dubbed Operation Faithful Patriot. Military officials, reached Friday, did not dispute its veracity.

The deployment appears to be the largest such peacetime mobilization of active-duty U.S. troops at the border in at least a century.

Trump is wasting military dollars in a politically motivated stunt ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections, at a time when the Pentagon budget is under pressure.

No one ever said that walls don't get breached on rare occasions.

The wall that Bill Clinton had built on the San Diego/Tijuana border has drastically cut down on crime and illegal crossings.

So...what you are saying is since sometimes walls get breached, then we should leave the border wide open and unprotected Do you leave your door unlocked all the time and your windows wide open because if someone wanted to get into your house, they would find a way so might as well not lock up anything?

Wait. The caravan is 1,000 miles away, and they're already preparing molotov cocktails?

Because, what, you can't fill a bottle with gasoline closer to the border?

They are probably using pee for now for the visual effect. Gasoline will likely be provided by the leftwing activist as they get in sight of the border.

I've heard this lame excuse by the pro-illegals so much that it's laughable. In other words because the good walls don't keep out illegal entry 100% they are useless? 90% isn't good enough? The last man that tried to scale one of the good walls broke both legs trying.

Some are. Do you have a link or reference for your "many" designation?

Seems to be criminals and pregnant women who want to deliver a baby so they can cash in on America welfare.
You left out the asylum seekers and ordinary folks who want a better place to live and work. I'm guessing a majority of the caravan are such. (But the criminals, walking anchorbaby incubators, and lazybones among them count too)

None of what President Trump is doing is political,
Anything any President does is political, unless he does it secretly, which here Trump isn't. The again, what secret talks has he been having with Mexican officials regarding their preventing caravan progress, denying them free buses etc.?

it is all about keeping the country from terrorists and keeping the worst of the worst of these countries.
That's certainly Trump's main reason for responding as he has. A massive show of military force will hopefully cool the hopes of the misguided mob so that most of them will give up and not try to crash OUR border. Crime discouraged is often crime prevented, and Trump knows it.
