Dixiecrats (or southern Democrats who later morphed into Republicans) were basically unelectable on the Presidential level. Both Truman and LBJ, of course, assumed the Presidency after the death of a President but did not fulfill the hopes of the segregationist corner of their party.
The political power of Dixiecrats was concentrated in the Senate where due to the seniority rules they headed many of the major committees. When it came to civil rights legislation, southern Democrats would not vote the Democratic party-line but instead align themselves with Republican Conservatives to defeat initiatives like the abolition of the poll tax prior to the 1960s.
For example by the end of the 1940s, Democratic House of Representatives would pass several anti–poll tax bills, however, each was successfully filibustered in the Senate by the southern Democrats.
The only reason I'm saying the Dixiecrats became Republicans because of LBJ was the civil rights act if 1964 and voting rights act of 1965. Those two bills alone caused Sen. Thurmond to switch from blue to red.
Love it. Everything great the Dems did in the past, the Dems today take credit for. Everything negative, they simply state "the parties switched, it was not us".
I know the parties switched platforms between 1860 and 1936. Are you talking about the Dems taking credit for something that happened before or after then?

Depends, but generally before 1964. I have heard taking credit for things like the New Deal, yet saying "it was not us, the parties switched" when referring to the KKK.
What's different about it except for a few stickers?
Top van. Rear door hinges are black.
Bottom van. Rear door hinges are white.
And the stickers in the rear windows are clearly different in the two pictures.
What's the claim on these pics? Are they supposed to be from two very different times, or the same day? Context would be useful.

Regardless of what the Democrat left media is reporting, this is still not passing the smell test.
I do not claim to know what happened here, but there is zero chance that I or tens of millions of other Americans are just going to "trust" CNN or the Washington Post or whoever on something like this. They have failed us by promoting a blatantly partisan agenda on behalf of the Democrat left for far too long.
Say what you want to about that, but that is the way that it is.
I am sure Alex Jones has some information on it more to your liking.
The whole thing is a charade...fake bombs that DIDN'T go through the mail, sent by a planted Trump supporter. The whole thing stinks...good timing though....it helps expose the Left for doing anything they can to win.

He lives in his van for pete's sake. The same van that's spotless though being kept outside, loaded with stickers that have no signs of wear or fading whatsoever. I'm not buying it.
