So there is no such thing as freedom of speech, nor freedom of expression in the U.S. anymore? Can a hand gesture, or statement hurt you?
You are perfectly free to make a fool of yourself in any way you wish, privately, or publicly. If you don't think people are going to call you on it, you don't know the average American.
Jordan Blue, a student who was not conformable with the salute, issued a statement saying the photographer suggested the salute.
“I knew what my morals were and it was to salute something I firmly don’t believe in,” he said. “I attend BHS, these classmates have bullied me since entering middle school, I have struggled with it my entire life and nothing has changed.”
Good for Jordan.
Funny how OP wants to try and spin it, the report/article talks about the history of bigotry in the school, but sure, they're just playing Spanish fascists.

People who formerly attended Baraboo High School responded to the posting with tales of a toxic atmosphere at the school, saying one of the boys in the photo shouted “white power!” in the hallway after Donald Trump was elected. Others said the students harassed Latino students.
The school had nothing to do with the picture, for god;s sake, read about it. It was taken off campus by a private photographer. The school has no control over that.
It’s a school event; school policies apply, “for gods sake”.
The photographer, a retired teacher, said he told the teens from Baraboo High School to "wave goodbye, heading off to prom" for the picture taken in May on the steps of the Sauk County Courthouse.

The school does have control over how it responds.
Would like to see all of the kids suspended, so it goes on their permanent record.
If the school doesn't act, I'm sure that all the kids will be identified, and it'll be put online so that if any colleges or potential employers look them up, they see what trash they're dealing with.
Dumb kids think that because they can get away with their disgusting behavior anonymously online, that they won't deal with any issues IRL.
Welcome to IRL *******.

Lol, a father trying to protect his son, and all the other kids' futures that he put in jeopardy.
He caught them all mid wave in the sig-heil position? The kid in the front row with the new Nazi hand signal just so happened to be doing that at the exact same time that the other kids were sig-heiling? Some kids decided not to participate because they thought it was wrong. They thought it was wrong to wave goodbye?
The only thing they waved good-bye to is a future of not being associated with loser nazis.

The school would get sued. It is disgusting but not illegal and the school did not sanction it. They have no say.
