Because, I am an advocate for people being enabled to live their lives in as normal of a manner as possible.
An emotional-support-KITTEH can be and many times IS just as necessary as something like a
seeing-eye-dog. People in needs of these psychological/emotional/physical crutches would absolutely crumble, sometimes die, without these living-tools that fulfill many different needs!
Emotional-support-animals, and similar assistance-animals, can be various types of animals!
KITTEH = A soft, warm, furry, musty-smelling animal, that loves meat, and will murder other animals
in-order to obtain it.
I feel most comfortable sleeping in my own bed with my favorite pillow. Should I drag it around wherever I go and when I travel?
The whole concept of *emotional support animals* is bogus. If people have genuine issues they can get support dogs and nobody will think twice about it. All the thumbsuckers in need of a blankie can stay home.
Correct. Airlines are a for profit enterprise moving people and as such are bound by certain rules and laws.
I am not bound by their laws and rules because my aircraft, a 1985 Piper PA-31t Cheyenne II, is not a for profit enterprise. Thus I can be choosy about who leases it.
(KGTV) — A National City woman is heartbroken after she was forced to leave her beloved fish at Denver International Airport.
It was supposed to be a happy homecoming for Lanice Powless and her best friend.
"I've taken him everywhere with me," she said.
According to the TSA website, live fish are allowed on board as a carry on.
Powless said she never had any problems bringing Cassie along on her usual Southwest flight.
But according to the airline, only small cats and dogs that fit in an under-seat carrier are allowed.
The quickest way to solve the problem in 3/4 of the cases would be to change the laws so that Emotional Support Animals are subjected to all the same fees as any other animal. If flying with a dog costs $125 (the fee last time I paid) then ESAs need to pay that. If the going rate for pets in rental properties for an area is a $200 deposit and $50/month then you cough up that. The only difference between ESAs and pets should be that they have to allow them to fly or live in the building, in other words they can’t deny you a reasonable accommodation. Yes, I get the reasoning that, gosh, that makes having one a financial burden for those who need (want) them but so does purchasing pet food, by that reasoning I keep expecting to see the argument for pet food stamps for ESAs.
You know, we have three pets and I have a physically clear handicap, plus my husband is a foot amputee, we could totally get away with claiming they were either service animals or ESAs and save ourselves around $500 when I fly. But we don’t, and never would, simply because that would be a lie and neither of us are okay with that.
