It is good financial sense to have at least 6 months Emergency funds regardless of who you are.

What I1 is doing makes exactly no sense.

Sad, a fool (Donald Trump) with power is dangerous!

The same could be said about whatever business you happen to be employed in. Nobody is irreplaceable. Nobody.

I firmly believe that the public sector ought to be following the same rules as the private sector. If the company can't afford to give you a pay increase, then you shouldn't get a pay increase. If Mexico won't pay for the wall, then federal workers shouldn't get a pay increase because we all know eventually Trump will get his wall and make American taxpayers pay for it.
Although I do feel bad for how federal workers have been demoralized and humiliated lately for political games with all these constant shutdowns and being furloughed, I can't feel too bad for them not getting a pay raise. In the private sector yearly pay raises are by no means a guarantee. It shouldn't automatically be expected.

The federal government used to be a nice, comfortable job. These are certainly different times for them.

The overwhelming majority of adults in the US did NOT vote for Trump. And yet, here we are, with those who back him not knowing that.
Add to that, of the 25% who voted for him, how many are "anybody but Hillary" voters? How many had at least enough intelligence to realize that the whole Mexico / Wall thing was just crap tossed out to the ignorant rubes?

Mrs. Pelosi has some explaining to do.
Not by any stretch of the imagination does Pelosi have anything to to with Feds not getting a pay raise. Trump announced in August he would not give Feds a pay raise. Said that country could not afford it. This is after giving his 1% buddies (the people he really cares about, and not idiot red MAGA hat wearers) a huge tax cut.

The government is running in the red to give the rich a big tax break when the government should have instead been getting debt paid off while the economy wasn't doing as badly as it has for several years. The pay raise would be a non-issue if the government was being run responsibly financially.
