The FBI involvement is due to the Golf club hiding illegal workers off the employee list, so they were not screened nor underwent a real background check
The act of "hiding" suggest the club knew it was a problem and tried to cover up, which allowed un-vetted people direct access to the president, a serious security breech.
I wonder if the FBI will now investigate the Clinton foundation since it is well documented they hire illegals and h1b guest workers over actual citizens
and lets not forget nannygate

Wow--between Maralago and Trump resorts and hotels, it appears that Trump hires a lot more foreign workers than Americans. He'd have to pay Americans a decent wage. Or he'd have to pay them--full stop.

Usually need enough evidence up front for the FBI to open an investigation, though. Apparently there was enough intel to start investigating Trump's Bedminster golf resort.
If there were enough evidence to open an investigation into the Clinton Foundation, I'm sure there would be one. But there isn't, so...

Why do you believe the NYT without thought or question that this even happened?
They offer up absolutely not proof that any of it is even remotely true
There is no proof that Trump "knowingly" had illegals working on any of his properties. Rich people don't hire manual laborers themselves.
If he is actually convicted of "personally" knowing it I'll be the first to call him a hypocrite but not until then.
