Houston is NOT a "border" town - subject of this thread.
Aside from that, yeah Houston has high crime, but it's down considerable from what it was a decade ago - even though the number of illegal aliens has climbed.
As a general rule the highest crime cities tend to be far from the Mexican border - and in nearly all cities the crime rate has fallen over the past decade.

When just about every border city has and continues to have low murder rates, it would be an outright lie to say violence on the Mexican side has been spilling over to the U.S. side of the border.
