There's no accounting for taste.

Warren Buffett is anti-Trump, has at least twenty five times the net worth of Trump, yet he shares Trump's penchant for McDonalds, etc.

Do you think he’d serve it reheated to guests visiting his house?

And, why did he say he ordered fast food because of the shutdown? Why not purchase food from a small business that’s no doubt getting less income because of I-1’s shutdown? That would be commendable.
Especially when you consider that he could have gone 'simple', and offered steak, a baked potato, some sort of salad, the the price would have been reasonable (if that indeed was a concern), the optics would have been better, and it would have been healthier for the athletes. It might not have been super fancy, but it wouldn't have been objectionable either.

Exactly, IC.

It finished. They are going to the Oval Office to take pics and evidently other presidents never did that. Lindsay Graham is surprisingly short. He was last to make a speech and said "I'll start this speech short and I'll end it short."

Given #45's atrocious diet this isn't surprising!

What would be surprising is if he served them borscht, caviar and vodka !

I think people are reading too much into this. Once again, I think Trump's choice of fast food has more to do with his image as President of the "real America" eg. the places in the country where your only choices for dining out are places like BK, McDonalds, Wendy's, etc or if you are lucky, you might a few "fancy" restaurants like Chili's or Olive Garden. Absolutely everything Trump does is a calculated move to appeal to his base. He's a master at it. This is no different.

I've heard long time friends of Trump interviewed over the last 3 1/2 years say that he's long been a consumer of fast food.

I think Clinton has now changed his diet, but he used to like fast food.

Default A White House Feast to Remember

Clemson's winning Tigers were invited to the White House for dinner today.

They dined in the State Dining Room, on White House china, lit by the elegant gold candelabra which have illuminated many an elegant repast over the decades.

The guests were offered McDonald's Big Macs, individual paper cups filled with French fries and decorated with the Presidential seal, and packets of various sauces and ketchup were served in the Lincoln silver gravy boats. Paper napkins were on hand for tidiness.

Noticing that "the White House" trending on Twitter, I checked it out. I first thought it had to be stills from the latest Saturday Night Live skit.

I was mistaken.

Big Macs and fries appear to be Trump's idea of a proper feast to honor the football champions.

Perhaps McDonald's can term their Big Macs "the Banquet of Champions" from now on.

You can't make this up, folks. I wish you could.

( two threads about this have been combined - not seeing the earlier thread, I started a new one in which this was the first message, hence all the description).

Did they eat? Did they enjoy the meal? Did they appreciate the gesture?

Congrats to Clemson for winning the CFC!!!
