If you don't understand civil rights laws in these areas, then perhaps you should refrain from commenting until you do.

I think she probably will receive some monetary compensation, but not the amount her lawyer was asking for.
300k is for legal fees. 500k for plaintaff punitive damages.

I doubt it gets overturned.

That is only in theory. The reality of employment law in a state like California that even a firing FOR CAUSE can and does get overturned and have attendant lawsuits to boot.

I’m a Christian and I think it’s a joke. Like our court system isn’t busy enough.
Well, then employers should obey the law and it won’t have to come to this...

New question on applications--is there anything preventing you from working on specific days?

Because now that there is a precedent--there are going to be lawsuits galore! Get ready all you business owners--the religious churchgoers are coming after you.

I thought Jesus kicked the money men out of the temple--this is like the opposite.

Why didn't she just get another job?
It has nothing to do with Trump or setting a precedent, it always been like this since 1964....

I think Christians "forced" to work on Sunday should all get a class action lawsuit going using this case a precedent... see how well that goes

They shouldn't have hired her if the job requires that you will need to be available on Sundays just as they never accommodate people of other faiths because their observance falls on a Friday or Saturday. If being off on Sunday is a priority too her then one of these Christian owned companies should have stepped up and offered here a spot.
