Shocking, an atheist picking a 'controversial' Bible verse, misapplying it, having no desire to understand, who will continue to deny the testimony of God, that Jesus is his only begotten son and the only way to the Father
This appears to have nothing to do with Christianity, not really.
It has to do with religious observance. By law a company has to make reasonable accommodation to an employees religious belief unless it would cause a hardship to the company.
What is surprising is that this even went to trial. Most companies would have settled early on. I would assume this came under the companies general liability insurance and insurance companies usually want to settle.
I don't believe employers should be required to accommodate employees gender. I don't believe employers should be required to accommodate employees age. I don't believe employers should be required to accommodate employees race.
See how that works?
Not really? What specific exceptions does one get due to gender, age or race?
I wonder how this squares with everyone's opinion about pharmacists refusing to dispense certain drug and medications due to their religious beliefs?
As far as I'm concerned that would be the call of pharmacy owner. Regardless of what your job is your religious beliefs should have to accommodate the demands of the job, not the other way around. If you want to refuse to dispense medication based on religious beliefs you should either have to find a pharmacy that allows you to do that or start your own pharmacy. I would also 100% support the right of such pharmacies to deny whatever medication they wanted.
**** poor management if you ask me. Seems you had a dependable worker for six years and then a new manager comes in and rather than keep the status quo gets rid of a solid worker in a job that probably has a lot of turnover. Personally I would fire the manager.
I don't believe employers should be required to accommodate employees religious beliefs.
Me either. I think religious belief should be kept private.
Like a penis, if I want it shoved down my throat, I would ask. Otherwise, please keep it to yourself.
As a employee, all you need is to figure out if you can do the job. If you cannot, find another job That is it.
Nobody needs to accommodate your religious beliefs. The idea itself is ridiculous.
I don't blame the person because everybody enjoys free money. If I knew I could do that, I would be the first one to sue. Hey, I am only human. since we cannot change human nature, we can certainly change our rules and laws.
Let's make it fair, this person please proves his or her damages, what does he/she lose exactly? Hurt feelings? come on now. Maybe pay him/her $150 for a decent counseling session, that is all. sheesh
