Yes, Venezuela ... the darling meme of the blind extreme right ... which ideologues conveniently ignore such progressively socialist juggernauts such as communist China (2nd most powerful world economy), socialist Japan (3rd most powerful world economy), socialist Germany (4th strongest world economy), socialist United Kingdom (5th strongest world economy [except for leftist California]) … and which have all prospered and advanced under their systems for 50+ years ... no end in sight.

Think she'll at least raise more money than most of the other Dems this year, way more telegenic than the rest of the pack. And someone needs to tell Elizabeth Warren to stop with the silly Instagram posts.
Warren always sounds like she is on the verge of crying when she gives a speech.

I’m not commenting on Kamala one way or the other ... not interested in early political positioning.

I am chuckling over your reference to Venezuela as an example of how socialism always fails ... it doesn’t, as I just demonstrated with my list of “leftist” economies ... of which the world’s top numbers 2 through 5 are long standing, stable, highly socialist countries. There are many more examples of very successful, long-lived socialist nations ... but you want to pick one that has proven unstable due to despotic rule in S. America, as an axiomatic proof socialism is always a failure.

Too damn funny ...

As a Democrat, I'm not voting for her in the primary. I'll vote for her if she ends up being the nominee, but I won't be very enthused about it.

I can already see it now. Pictures of curbside syringes and feces splashed across the TV screens when GOP campaign ads start rolling out.

I think we can do better, as a party, than Kamala!
I don't think it's "cute" at all, and I especially don't think it's "cute" that Hill & Bill are backing her, as if she's a viable candidate who has a chance of winning. I wouldn't vote for her, if she gets nominated; that's one election I'd have to sit out, and I don't think I"m the only one who feels that way, so Guess Who would win? If the Dam Party can't do any better than this, they're truly pathetic. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! A win is practically handed to them on a silver platter, but they still manage to flub it? I hope not.

Yeah, I think Harris would not just fold, but would crumple, in a debate against the likes of Elizabeth Warren, if Warren decides definitively to run. Is Biden still considering a run?

"As a 0.00000000000000001% Native American, I also know about discrimination..." that isn't going to work for her anymore lol.

What? When did she say that? Citation, please.

And btw, as she recently proved, she's 5% NA, not that that's relevant to anything. If you have a problem with it, you don't have to vote for her.

God bless Elizabeth Warren. She's the Ralph Nader of this generation. An amazingly effective advocate, we always need, who should never run for president.

Exactly. Last week's SNL did a parody of her you can find on YouTube in the weekend update skit, but what Kate McKinnon forgot to do, was to shake her head constantly. Otherwise, she was pretty spot-on.

My bar right now for evaluating presidential candidates, is - picturing them toe to toe with Putin at a summit meeting. The only candidates in the democratic party that I feel confident being able to handle that with any kind of strength is Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Anybody else, in my opinion, would be eaten for lunch by Putin.

Presidents need to have so many qualities. It's not just about agenda or popular appeal, etc. They also need to be fierce as far as an ability to sit down with dictators and be the stronger person in the room. They also have to have charisma and be likable by the masses. You need all of the above to be the leader of the free world.

Kamala Harris has all of the above. And she's not another old white guy. I have lots of respect for Joe Biden, but he's yet another privileged old white guy. And Beto is another privileged younger white guy.

I'm an old white lady, but I want a younger, diverse person in the White House again. I don't want to go backwards. I really believe Kamala can do the job and be an inspiration, which we desperately need. She comes across as a lot more sincere than Biden, too. As much as I respect him, he's all about the Kodak moment and comes across as fake a good portion of the time. I don't get that from Kamala.
