The government's #1 job is to protect this country, that includes her borders.

I realize that some people think that the government is supposed to be their parent because they are too afraid to adult on their own, but it's not.

If part of the government doesn't want to do its job and protect this country, then maybe it's time that the President take action.

Again, the government's #1 job is to protect the country. The government has not been protecting our country for 30 years by doing nothing about our borders. Our country's safety is not a political piece in a game, it's their #1 fricken job.

Having another dog in the White House would be redundant.

This seems like a win for all involved. Neither side caved. The government reopens, ending the pressure on both parties. Either the courts will strike it down- and Trump can blame the deep state or whatever, or they’ll uphold it, and the next Dem president can use the precedent to declare their own emergencies. Only loser is that whole “three equal branches, checks and balances” thing.

No wonder. You know how good dogs are at judging character. I'll bet they all growl when they're around him.

Calm down, yeesh... It's obviously a zero sum game now, and both sides are playing it out regardless of what YOU or any of us want.

Don't have a stroke over it.

Exactly!

Too many people think the government is there to facilitate theft from one group to give to another.

They could care less about the on going invasion at our southern boarder. In fact they welcome it. Safety in numbers.

The entire 700 miles is estimated to cost $25 billion that's a lot cheaper than the over $100 billion a year that illegal aliens cost us. Where have you been? For weeks now Trump has been agreeing with the Border Patrol that the high see thru steel slatted walls/barriers are the most effective.

Were you concerned about where the money would be coming from back in 2006 when the actual wall bill was passed and it was to be soley the taxpayer to fund it?

At 100 total votes in the poll, the split was exactly 50-50.

It looks like opinion on this question is rather evenly divided, at least so far.

Considering the right wing bend to this forum, that's quite telling
