In the usual banter, something is lost. Who do you exactly send your bills too? Somebody said there's no pot of money sitting somewhere. So who pays the bills?
You send your monthly premium to another family individual as coordinated by the home office. I've sent or received payments from someone in most of the lower 48 by now.
From what I can gather, 11 out of your 12 monthly payments are sent directly to someone who has a claim that needs to be paid. That way it actually isn't a tithe, which is another way to avoid entanglements.
So it isn't insurance and it isn't a tithe. Whatever you call it, it is pretty well protected. Someone did their homework when coming up with the scheme.
The 'scheme' works very very well and has for a long time to get people great coverage at very low cost.
I agree that things like birth control pills and general checkups should not have to be covered by insurance. They are not expensive or treating a disease (unless bc is used to treat symptoms of a disorder, then it should be covered). I pay plenty for my maintenance meds which went OTC and are no longer covered. I am not sure about Viagra. ED may or may not be a true medical condition.
I suspect it is not and wouldn't be covered by Samaritan.
So you pretty much don't have sex anymore? Sorry 'bout that, grandpa.
