Elderly on medications and just plain old/slower decision making should be reexamined.
I'm pro gun but common sense should prevail when it comes to elderly and guns.
Retirement age is set for a reason. At a certain age, memory begins to fail.
That is all
I would venture to guess this guy was just as much of an a-h@le at 55.

There is none because nobody wants to give up guns even if it is illegal. Look at the New Jersey law about limiting banana clips. My father, a LONG TIME gun owner dont get why people even need banana clips, yet gun rights advocates are entirely in favor of it.

I am 70, taking college classes and have a 3.9 GPA. I also would have no chance to fight for my life and cannot run. So you would be taking my only protection away from me. I don't think so.

The entire debate has been shredded by evidence of the average firearms user swapping smaller capacity MAGAZINES almost as fast as having one large one.

That and the fact that there are so many in existence it's rather ignorant to think a criminal won't have a larger capacity MAGAZINE.

You've never seen a gun on someone in Florida? Do you live in a retirement community? Even in AZ I constantly see handguns on people hips that obviously aren't LE. Same as any other when I'm traveling for work in GA, FL, NC or TX.

You will see them in Missouri and Kansas too.

No. I have never seen a gun on a private citizen. I have friends who own guns but I have never seen them. I am sure they are around but they are not obvious. I have seen guns in Germany (police again) and Romania. In Romania, those were American soldiers.

Not the first time an old foggie looses it Fl. I never heard any more about the retired cop on the movie theater who shot that man for texting n popcorn. The other one for loud car music went to jail.

Elyn02, that is a ridiculous and disingenuous response to a serious issue.

Yes, if the person tried to use the van on kids inside the school it would be less effective than a gun.

I guess that means guns are safer than knives because if you're both swimming then they can't fire it at you.

Perhaps you should consider your lack of diversity as a challenge to better understanding this complicated topic?
