It is certainly not out of the realm of things where by a state, or states could go against federal laws on abortion.

In the times we live, there is no respect for law, or authority, so it could happen.

Bob.
and don't forget cannabis is illegal federally... but many states have made it legal or partially legal, giving the finger to the feds.....and not one thing has been done to them

The state wouldn't be sued. The individuals who defied the law within the state would face prosecution for breaking the law.

If a state law was passed that defied the federal law, the courts would nullify the state law. Since there have been at least 40 laws like this written and passed since Roe v. Wade was declared the law, any new attempt wouldn't be allowed to become legal unless it offered a radically new and different argument.

Once a law is nullfied, it is no longer a law. So it cannot be prosecuted nor defended. Any nullification leaves Roe V. Wade intact as the only law of the land.

And with no legal protections, anyone who defied the established law breaks that law, so the individual would be prosecuted. This would also be true with a group of individuals. They could be tried individually, or as a group.

Roe vs. Wade was a long time ago. It's 2019, it's settled. Time to move on.
The wingnuts are excited because they got a conservative Supreme Court and now they want to overflow orphanages. We all know they don't give a damn about any child the minute they are born.

Citizens have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness unless you're a fetus. A fetus gets killed and thrown in the dumpster.......much to the delight of NYC Dems.....

At least you understand that a fetus is not a person.

Well, their party is headed by a guy who embodies all 7 deadly sins and the Evangelicals are beginning to notice. Time to reach into the bag-of-tricks - a bit of moral outrage and some ****-shaming never yet failed to appeal to those who think they're great people merely for claiming to be religious.

Nope, not strange at all. Its viewed as a wedge issue. As such expect to hear about it non stop for the next few years. They are trying to make it unsettled.

As for the original question, lets point out that sanctuary cities are about the government trying to force states to expend money to do something without funding it. IE immigration enforcement. Something the federal government can in fact still do in their cities. And that the government can withhold future money if its related. Sanctuary cities and states can still lose funding in future bills. So its not the straightforward comparison that the op thinks.

As for a state trying to go into rebellion in this fashion I think they would find out that the federal government, and courts can in fact make life difficult. But maybe they should think about if they want to destroy America this way.

I seriously would like to see what DC would do. Would they really send in troops to try and MAKE us allow child genocide? If so, I say that perhaps it's time we break away from DC and secede.

Maybe they'd send in educators to teach people that abortion has nothing to do with the hyperbolic BS "child genocide".
