Khashoggi was not a reporter. He was a lobbyist and spy.

How much money did Cheney make off the invasion of Iraq?
Forgive me for being cynical but every time I hear about one of our troops getting killed overseas and being lauded as heroes who died for our country I think did they die for us or for corporate America?
You can go back to Col. Smedley Butler's War Is a Racket. That's the probably the only book my father-in-law (a former Marine and a self-styled socialist revolutionary) and I have both read with approval.

Are you talking about the fact that PNAC wrote that they needed a "catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor" to justify the wars they wanted, and -- next thing you know -- they got one?

Are you suggesting that wasn't just an amazing coincidence?

Not bad for an invasion sold to Congress as no more than a few month initiative.

We have spent 6 Trillion on wars since 9/11
Yeah...

But just look how much better off Halliburton, Blackwater, Boeing, etc are doing as a result.

Thanks Dick!

No such thing as a former Marine! He EARNED that title and keeps it for life! Semper Fi!

Indeed! Its the war that keeps on giving, the bottomless money jar, etc

Plus it has helped grow the aggressive police state in the US too, I remember not long after 9-11, they started insinuating that people that buy illegal street drugs may be contributing to terrorism, 'see something, say something' also become big around that time.

Ive said before in other threads, THIS war will go on until a larger threat comes along, like maybe an asteroid on a collision course with earth, fake alien invasion, etc etc ( I have a sneaky feeling Trumps action to create a military space force, was the precursor to some kind of fake alien invasion scare/ disclosure, all wrapped up together! Such a thing would require LOADS of money in defense spending).

If Trump is such a man of peace and will never get us into a catastrophic war like Bush/Cheney why is he proposing a massive increase in military spending?

Is it worth a couple billion apiece?

Imagine if we spent that on disease and other things? I am certain we could save people at a vastly lower price.
