Guaranteed most people don't know what socialism is. Many confuse it with communism. The dingbat in the WH has reinforced this ignorance lately.

Many countries around the world have democratic governments and socialist economic systems. They tend to be wealthier, more well educated, and healthier than systems like ours which is Democratic/Capitalist.

We socialize many of our systems. Military, mail, a lot of health care, but not all, utilities and education. Much of it is a hybrid system which supports the "managers" but not so much the "users".

"democratic socialist" is a pig with a different color shade of lipstick.
The Russian Bolsheviks called themselves "democratic socialists" at first. And so did Hitler.
And what makes you think the "managers" of these socialist governments are bot being supported with the users being thrown under the bus totally? The problem with a socialist governments I see is that the users become to dependent on the government for everything.

Socialism takes from others who earned it then gives it to the others who have under achieved in their life ... socialism controls business and industry thus being the only game in town ... what you see today in America is nearly 60 years of Godless social liberal policies that have failed your fellow countrymen, women.

I was influenced by living in Iceland and the UK (which is not a democratic socialist country, but has some policies that I admire), as well as spending time in Sweden and Israel (again, the latter is not a democratic socialist country but there are some political parties that are heavily influenced).

That influence grew stronger when I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer at 23. Here I was in the wealthiest country in the world with access to some of the best doctors in the world at one of the top 10 cancer centers in the world, and yet my insurance plan ensured that my treatment was far more expensive and far less effective than peers in Canada, Sweden, the UK, and Israel who received a superior chemotherapy at no-to-limited out of pocket cost to them with no questions asked and got it more than a month faster than I was able to get into treatment. I had done everything right - gone to college on a full scholarship, worked hard, saved - and yet when push came to shove, that was nothing compared to the cost of being sick in our country. And thank G-d my chemotherapy worked and I was able to work (thanks to overly generous employers since I had no legal protection) throughout treatment! There were no social safety nets for me, and that firmed my resolve that no one should be in that or a worse position simply because they get sick, or maybe because they're less intelligent or had less luck than me.

They lied a lot. Just as our home-grown socialists do.

Socialists can never admit openly to what they intend. Because normal people would reject them en masse. They need many generations of lying and faking, to get people to believe them in sufficient quantities to not revolt against them.

No, they didn't. They took power via revolution and were proud of it. They never claimed to be democratic.

You should study up on issues before opening thread about them.

No. It was actually the opposite of what you claim. The soviets were very open about the communist ideals of grabbing the land and fortunes from the landowners and use it for "common good". That was the selling point to get the peasants behind it. It appealed to the masses as the time, since they didn't know it was not going to work on the long run.

Same revolution took place in smaller scale in neighboring Finland, and they did reject it. They knew the choices and chose to oppose communism. Even in Russia it was opposed by many in the beginning which is why there was a four way civil war, but the communists beat out the anti-commies and other socialist factions.

I would say that the Millennials are for Socialism because that is all they know.

They have lived in their parents house since birth and had everything provided for them.

Now that their parents have finally kicked them out of the house they are looking for a new Mommy and Daddy to take care of them and they are looking toward the Government to adopt them.

The thing is that people that are in Love with socialism have very little real life experience.

Socialism is great until the people paying for it run out of money.
