I don't get why righties have such a hard on for guns? What is it exactly; fear? Insecurity? Pent up rage? I've never felt the need to own a gun, and I don't live in fear

We should. We obviously never will, but that's to our detriment.

Guns can be a hobby, used for sport, used for utility, or just admired like a fancy car. You don't have to feel the need since your feeling on it don't matter.

There's this thing called the Constitution.

Also hunting, gun clubs, target practice, gun collector, gun trader, home defense, etc. america is ingrained in gun culture unlike many other countries who ironically depdend on us for their national security.

If there ever comes the day that ALL guns can be melted down, and then forever and ever another gun can NEVER be made on this planet, then I will gladly take mine to the blast furnace to do my part.

Just so that another gun will never harm or kill another human. But doing so, will still not stop the knives, hammers, baseball bats, home made explosives from being used on people by nut jobs.

But until this total gun elimination happens to assure me there is NOT another gun in existence EVER again, to where that some bad person can find or build a gun they will use to harm me or my family while I am unarmed....then I am leaving my guns in the closet.

Where they have been sitting now for 28 years and NONE of them have EVER fired accidently on their OWN, and harmed anyone or anything.

There you go feeling instead of thinking again...

The same could be said for the 1st Amendment, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th so on and so on...
You know, those pesky individual liberties...

Why does a Constitutionally protected civil liberty, an inalienable right, have to have an emotional connection?

Are we not guaranteed the Right to Life, Liberty, and Pursuits of Happiness? Are we not allowed to defend those rights as we see fit? Are we not allowed to exercise those rights?
Last I checked, we do...

So I ask in honesty.

Why is it lefties have such a hard on for guns? What is it exactly; fear? Pent up rage? I have never thought it was necessary or needed to ban firearms or firearm ownership, and I don't live in fear.

In simple terms it is PROJECTION of their own fear and insecurity from Liberal/Progressives. They can not, and do not TRUST THEMSELVES to be able to handle the RESPONSIBILTIY of using a firearm reasonably, and legally because they act out of pure EMOTION. You said it. "Feelings", not RATIONAL THOUGHT.
