As thinking individuals, the vast majority will go to California, where they can receive generous benefits. Humans are rational beings and will go where they can get the most bang for their buck. Unfortunately, the Democrats do not understand this and continue to put in place policies which pull more and more impoverished, 5th grade educated people in.
Wisconsin had the same problem. It was a welfare magnet because it paid higher public assistance benefits than surrounding states. They had to back off on that somewhat because it was clearly becoming unsustainable.
The San Diego County Board of supervisors is overwhelmingly Republican and very fiscally conservative, SD only had a Democrat rep on the County Board of Supervisors in November.
Long Term Care refers not to long term health coverage but rather long term care in a Skilled Nursing Facility or an Institute for Mentally Diseased, so it is very limited coverage. I do agree though, if you want to stop the flow of immigration stop the limited govt benefits altogether and quit hiring them.
Have you been to Texas or Arizona, both states have plenty of illegals.
They should be really suing the state of California instead in a federal court. Interesting they sue the guy that wants to build a wall instead. Not that I actually support this guy but it just doesn’t make sense.
Though now I know why SD county design welfare offices particularly the one in Oceanside very user unfriendly and unwelcoming. As they don’t want people snooping public services. Thus the entrance requires a steep hike or wheel up multiple steep ramps, as parking lots and elevators are exclusively reserved for their own personnel use while “peasants” including those who are handicapped or other medical difficulties on or seeking Medi Cal need to park blocks away and go up the super steep ramps if they can’t walk up flights of stairs.
