Insurance public or private is a pool...Both are 'someone ELSE pay for health care' models and if you object to paying for others, then you'd better cancel your private insurance.

Not a great idea because as you age your health care bills go up.

The point is, it's a VOLUNTARY pool, and that's the point. I don't mind the US having a public option as long as only those who opt in have to pay for it.

Yes, and who do you think pays for medicaid? You do if you pay taxes.

Exactly why we don't need any other form of public health care. Those who need it (they have no money) are already covered by Medicaid.

Thank god I live in Canada where we actually care about other people, and don't let them die for lack of money.

Nearly 45,000 annual deaths are associated with lack of health insurance, according to a new study published online by the American Journal of Public Health.

False claim.

People do not file bankruptcy because bills. You can read the bad news here:

Hearing on “Working Families in Financial Crisis: Medical Debt and Bankruptcyâ€
Tuesday July 17, 2007 1:00 pm
Room 2141 Rayburn House Office Building

Nor is there any evidence that medical bankruptcies are creating any sort of crisis for the bankruptcy system or that the percentage of medical bankruptcies has been rising over time.

So, you can stop saying that, because it's not becoming of you.

I don't suppose it ever occurred to you that "Cancer Research UK" has an agenda, namely to persuade wealthy donors to contribute monies to their cancer research facilities.

According to you, everyone has a right to Farmer's Delight.

It's just a simple dish I created of rice, farmer's cheese, mushrooms and young early peas, or better yet, snow peas.

You don't have a right to music, and healthcare is no different than music. In both instances, someone created those things, but they are not inherent to your being.

Actually, that sounds very tasty, and I think I'll try it. Next time I go to the store, I will BUY those ingredients and make it myself!

The fact you cannot discern the difference between those dying for lack of ANY care EVER being available due to their station in life is remarkable..

The difference is marked by the one country making efforts to correct a situation and the other finding nothing whatsoever wrong with the fact the lack of money equals no care for millions.

You're very cavalier with other peoples lives. Must be an American thing since yours is the only country not finding it an abhorrent circumstance millions of their fellow citizens are doing without .

In other words, the only human right we have is the right to breathe air without getting billed for it.
