Haiti is about 90% Black, but just the same, Trump did refer to it as a "s-hole" country. Haiti might not be a place alot of people want to go to. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. However, Trump was wrong for what he said. To go and insult another country is just stupid. I think Trump did it because he was saying what many within his support base wanted to hear.

One of the things I've learned over the years is this. People in the political arena are out for themselves. I do not believe for a moment that the persons who say "Huge numbers of Blacks support Trump" or "Blacks should vote Republican" etc, are looking out for the best interests of Black Americans. Said persons are looking out for their own interests and they see Black Americans as the ones standing in the way of those interests.

I base this on some threads I've seen. Names of the threads followed by the links.

Blacks Loyalty to The Democratic Party Explained.

Why do African Americans vote Democrat?

Why are African-Americans voting for the Establishment?
//www.city-data.com/forum/elect...blishment.html

African-Americans: Why don't they vote Republican?
//www.city-data.com/forum/polit...they-vote.html

Fact..97% of blacks voted for Obama=Racist African American vote!
//www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ma-racist.html

Why do black people vote for Obama?
//www.city-data.com/forum/elect...ote-obama.html

And the latest, it's not just from those who vote Republican.
This thread has to do with the Democratic Primary. Complaints about who Blacks vote for. The title: Why do blacks support Biden? https://www.city-data.com/forum/elec...ort-biden.html

And the thread "Why do blacks support Biden?" includes referring to Black people as "selfish" and basically saying "Blacks are going to cost us".

This is why I look out for myself in terms of the political arena. I understand that some people only look out for themselves. Some of the persons obsessed about who Blacks vote for do not care about Blacks. They just want "their guy" or "their politician" in office. Blacks are just viewed in terms of "Blacks are going to cost us the election".

It has not happened. And now, some people have nothing to say.

"Let's talk about black people!"

In the same breath. "A thread for black people? What happened to judging by the content of ones character? This is soooo racist!"

It all boils down to this. Like you said, many people want to talk ABOUT Black people, but they don't want to hear what Black people actually have to say. In hearing what we have to say, said persons might not want to hear it.

2 Polls (considered to be Right leaning) a few months ago showed Trump getting as much as 34% of the Black vote. These %'s have fallen since, but those polls started the discussions of growing Black voter support for Trump.

https://www.lifezette.com/2019/11/po...ecord-numbers/

A very recent poll of Blacks (done by a Black polling company and cited in the NY Times) said Trump could get 12%, which would still be a heckuva a lot higher than he achieved in 2016 which was ~8%. That is a 50% improvement!

The same poll showed Trump had a 26% approval rating (74% disapproved is what they stated, so I took that to also mean 26% approved).

Read the 3rd & 4th paragraphs from the end of this article to see where I took the 12% & 26% figures from:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/04/o...ck-voters.html

(If you can't get past the paywall by clicking on my link, copy & paste the url into your browser...it should open, then scroll down to near the end of the article where the NY Times buried it)

Additionally, Blacks have the best employment figures they've had in ~50 years, & their wages are rising too. These are gov't provided stats.

So, there are numeric measures (metrics) that these claims of increasing Black support for Trump are borne out of.

It’s curious how so many posting here constantly gaslight, but remain completely in the dark.
